LOU

BRUNE® presents LOU, a lounge chair with a very special appeal. The inviting upholstery on a high-gloss chromeplated or black matt powder-coated base with revolving column gives LOU a pleasing effect that‘s comfortable, but not bulky. Modern, sporty and sleek design with generously sized cushions promises a pleasurable sitting experience. Seat and neck cushions available in contrasting colours, giving the chair‘s owner the chance to give an individual touch to LOU.

Frame

Column shaft Ø 55 mm, turnable, attached with screws to base. Spokes of the base made from tapering flat steel bars, approx. 40 mm high, 12 mm thick. Column pipe with welded cross-beam fitting for the screw connection of the seat shell.

 

Frame with adjustment mechanism

Column shaft Ø 55 mm, turnable, attached with screws to base. Spokes of the base made from tapering flat steel bars, approx. 40 mm high, 12 mm thick. Rotary column with a plug-in cone to adjust the seat angle, strength: approx. 25 mm, featuring an interior ball bearing. Allows the easy and noise-free rotation of the upper section. Adjustment mechanism with a chrome-plated lever (strength: 12 mm) that runs parallel to the seat shell. Continuously variable in a range between 0 and 15 degrees.

Chrome-plated or matt black powder-coated.

Upholstery support featuring a steel frame and support plate, coated and covered with polyurethane cold foam and cotton wool.

 

Seat shell with wings

Upholstery support featuring a steel frame and support plate, coated and covered with polyurethane cold foam and cotton wool, with additional attached and fixed wing part, also made of polyurethane cold foam with steel frame.

Uwe Sommerlade

Uwe Sommerlade

Uwe Sommerlade (born 1961) is the son of a civil engineer, and as such had early discovered his passion for design. He has already been sitting in the office of his father when he was a child, and there he drafted his first houses and objects. In his youth, he learned dealing with wood in the cabinet-making of his grandfather. After his Abitur and the successful completion of his apprenticeship as cabinet maker, he started studying design in Kassel. In 1991, he founded the office Lepper Schmidt Sommerlade designer with two partners there. Since then he has developed internationally successful products for renowned companies. After the death of Christian Lepper in 2011, he founded his own studio.
National and international awards confirm the quality of his work.
Uwe Sommerlade is lives and works in Kassel.
