
1945 – 1958




In 1945 Heinrich Brune builds up a hardware trade located in a registry of a church in Kleineichen near Cologne. Within short the trained insurance salesman and "inventor" of the demountable kitchen bench moves to the Hacketeuer barracks in Cologne-Mühlheim, sells furniture to the local specialized trade and opens entrepots in several German cities.
1959 – 1966




In 1959 the fabrication of kitchen benches, chairs and tables is taken up, the year when Wolfgang Brune, present managing director, enters the company. The first production site in a former cinema is soon followed by our own production plant in Königswinter-Oberpleis, where it is located ever since.
1967 – 1969




In 1967 the designer Gerd Rausch joins the company. According to the requirements of the market the product range is extended by seats and tables with steel frame. A galvanisation company near Düren is taken over and thus steel coating becomes part of the production process.
1970-1974




A flood disaster in the summer of 1970 necessitates a restart. Now the production is rebuilt with emphasis on seats and tables for the contract market.
1975-1979




BRUNE focuses on the production of design-oriented furniture for commercial and public premises. The product range is being enlarged continuously.
1980-1990




By founding branches in the Netherlands, France, Britain and Belgium, BRUNE expands within Europe. In 1988 a second production site is opened in Königswinter.
1991-today




In 1991 Wolfgang Brune takes over the former GDR factory ROTTA in Saxony-Anhalt and invests in modern machines. In the nineties further acquisitions follow which opens up new markets for BRUNE. With the licensee Stapel Brune in Bogota for example BRUNE has a location in South America. In the year 2002 Andreas Fertig enters the company and supports Wolfgang Brune as managing director.
